Description
I can remember telling my parents I wanted to be a doctor in elementary school. I volunteered at my local hospital in high school and started to solidify my desire to pursue medicine. After four years of college pre‑med courses and basic science research, I was accepted to medical school. I was fortunate to shadow a pediatric surgeon just before starting my medical school classes, and I was immediately drawn to the specialty. Few other fields of medicine offer the opportunity to care for such a wide breadth of patients and disease processes. My practice philosophy reflects that I never care for a single patient. All my patients have parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends. I recognize that while meeting a pediatric surgeon may offer a cure, it may also be the most stressful day of a parent’s life. As a parent, physician, and surgeon, my goals are to provide exceptional care, treat the disease, and care for the patient and their family. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family outdoors, attending sporting events and concerts, cooking, and bike riding.
