Description
I am a Neurological Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist at the Center for Rehabilitation Care in Chapel Hill. I work with adults recovering from neurological conditions to help them regain function, improve independence, and return to the activities that are most meaningful to them. My areas of interest include stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), multiple sclerosis (MS), tremor disorders, Parkinson's disease, and post-concussion rehabilitation. I am also LSVT BIG certified. I chose occupational therapy because maintaining independence and quality of life is incredibly important. I enjoy the challenge of creatively problem-solving with each patient to find strategies that maximize their independence. Being able to provide education, adaptive techniques, and practical solutions that make everyday life easier is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I believe rehabilitation should be patient-centered and goal-driven. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual's goals, abilities, and lifestyle, with the objective of helping patients return to their highest possible level of function and independence. I value collaboration, education, and empowering patients with the tools and confidence to succeed both during therapy and at home. When I'm not at work, I enjoy staying active through line dancing, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and running. I also love exploring Chapel Hill and the surrounding area by trying new restaurants with friends and family.
